West Ham United’s Said Benrahma has admitted he felt immediately better after getting his first goal for new club Lyon in the 2-1 win over Metz on Friday.
The forward has been speaking to Amazon Prime France after scoring the winning goal in the game, his first for the club.
He joined Lyon on loan from West Ham at the end of the January transfer window, with the deal being ratified after the window had closed following computer issues on deadline day.
Indeed, it even led to his new manager coming out to defend him, revealing that the West Ham loanee actually needed more support from his new teammates, who needed to adapt to him.
He’s now taken a big step forward after bagging his first goal for the club, a game winning one at that, and admits he is feeling the support from those around him.
“It’s a goal that will give me a lot of confidence,” he said.
“Already, after the goal, I felt a lot better, I dared more, and I had more freedom.
“It’s worth continuing like this, I have a team who trusts me, I have a coach who trusts me, the entire club trusts me, and I try to go into the field.”
