Dusan Vlahovic’s 10 goals for Fiorentina this season have led him to be linked to several top clubs in Europe, with Manchester City being among them.

With Pep Guardiola’s side said to be looking for a new centre-forward, the Serbian striker shows up as one of the options in the market, despite the big competition there should be for his signing next year.

Now as Vlahovic’s futures continues being commented on in Italy, we get to see someone who doesn’t believe that the 21-year-old’s style would suit Manchester City’s game.

The quotes come from former Fiorentina director of football Carlos Freitas, who was interviewed by Lady Radio and had a few things to say about the chase for the young striker.

“Vlahovic? For sure he’ll go to one of the strongest teams in the world,” said Freitas (via Viola News).

“In January he’ll be 22 and has numbers that will lead him to a top club. In Italy there are world-class teams: Juventus, Inter and Milan but economically they’re further behind. Pay attention to Bayern Munich because Lewandowski is 33 years old and I don’t see three stronger than Vlahovic around: he could be the Pole’s heir.”

“Instead, I have doubts about Manchester City because I don’t think he suits Guardiola’s style.”

Manchester City had already been linked to Vlahovic in the summer and recent reports from Italy said there’s still a fresh interest in his signing.

The word in the local media is that his price should be of €60m, with him deciding against renewing his contract at Fiorentina, which ends in 2023.
