As revealed on Wednesday, not only did Chelsea fail to offload Hakim Ziyech to Paris Saint-Germain on loan due to some incompetence down their end, but Tiemoué Bakayoko also remains a Milan player.
That is something the Serie A side did not want, as they have yet to use him this season, and a move to Adana Demirspor was lined up, only for that to fall through.
Why that is the case remains something of a mystery, as even the Turkish club’s leaders are unsure about what happened with the Chelsea midfielder.
Murat Sancak, the club’s president, is at a loss, and doesn’t have the answers, as he explained after the deal fell through, relayed by Sport Mediaset.
This means that Bakayoko will now remain at the San Siro side until the end of the campaign, where he will very likely never be used by Stefano Pioli.
He is said to be ‘substantially outside’ the manager’s project at the Italian side, and he will therefore return to Chelsea at the end of the season, where he has a contract until 2024.
At this point, it’s fair to say he will never get that far, with an exit this summer all but guaranteed one way or another.
