Over the past few weeks, there have been numerous articles written in Italy about Newcastle United’s interest in Matías Soulé, and now his current director of sport has come out to comment on the speculation, as relayed by Diretta.
The winger is currently on loan at Frosinone from Juventus, but there have been strong suggestions a good bid for him could cut that short and allow the Turin side to pocket a nice sum of €25m+ in January.
That would mean reaching an agreement with the Serie A side to allow the Argentine to return to his parent club, and then go to Newcastle or whoever else makes the right bid.
With six goals and one assist in 16 appearances, it’s clear there is a lot of talent in the 20-year-old, and that’s why a few Premier League clubs are trying to get there early.
Newcastle are reportedly one of them, but Frosinone’s director of sport, Guido Angelozzi, tried to, unconvincingly, put an end to all the rumours.
He said: “For me, Soulè will become an important player, but I don’t know if he will it at Juventus or in other teams. Many English clubs are following him and come to see him every week. He is a player who will become a top player. Will he stay at Frosinone in January? I think so, he is currently a Frosinone player.”
