On May 22nd, Jhon Durán’s agent Jonathan Herrera stated his client could leave Aston Villa in the summer window.
Earlier this month, Colombian journalist Guillermo Arango reported Chelsea have agreed a deal with Aston Villa, but an agreement with the striker was missing.
Durán is representing Colombia at the Copa América, where he was an unused substitute in their 2-1 win over Paraguay.
The 20-year-old spoke to reporters, and was asked about his future at Aston Villa and the possibility of joining the Blues this summer. His comments are relayed by Gol Caracol.
Responding to that, he said: “The options of the other teams I don’t know, I am not aware now. I’m focused on the national team, at the Copa América, wanting to add minutes, supporting the team a lot and for those topics of possible signing I already have other people who take care of that.”
As well as Chelsea, the Colombia international has been linked with a move to Fulham and Manchester United. AC Milan are now added to this list if a report from Futbol Red is to be believed.
Olivier Giroud’s departure has seen the Serie A side look for a new striker in the market. They currently have the Aston Villa player and Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku as the two ‘clear options’.
It’s claimed Milan will shift their focus to Durán if they aren’t able to sign the Belgian. The report adds Unai Emery’s side will ask for €40m to sanction the South American’s sale this summer.
