The agent of Destiny Udogie continues to speak about the fullback’s upcoming return to Tottenham Hotspur.
On Thursday, it was Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb who managed to have a word with Ferdinando Guarino.
As Udogie prepares to feature for the U-21 national team against France tonight, the agent was quizzed of the move. The interviewers wanted to know whether the player is actually joining Tottenham, since there are other clubs who’d like to sign him.
“I had a discussion with Tottenham: they believe in him a lot, they will watch him again tonight,” Ferdinando Guarino told TuttoMercatoWeb.
“There is no shortage of admirers because he’s a complete player, he’s shown over time that he can have a dominant impact on matches. But… one step at a time. Today is the Euro. Then there will be the league and he is very excited to be living this new adventure with Tottenham.”
It was last summer that Tottenham found an agreement with Udinese to get Udogie signed on a €18m deal. At the time, the clubs agreed that the player would spend another year at the Italian side on a loan deal.
The youngster continued having regular performances for the Serie A club, with 34 appearances in the season, and that’s why more interested clubs show up willing to sign him.
His agent, however, seems to have it clear that Tottenham shall give him a chance this season. He’s still 20 years old, and should get prepared to be used by Spurs little by little.
