Ismaïla Sarr was one of the new faces to arrive at Crystal Palace in the summer window.

The London club took him from Marseille and offered him a deal until 2029 and the move saw the former Watford man return to the Premier League.

Sarr claims he joined Crystal Palace with a clear goal of taking the club as high as possible in the league standings. He revealed this during an interview with APS and his comments are relayed by Sene News.

“I came to Crystal Palace with the ambition of taking the club as high as possible in the rankings,” he said.

Oliver Glasner’s side have endured a difficult run, winning three of their 16 league games so far. Crystal Palace and are currently 15th in the table with 16 points, four points above the relegation zone.

The Senegal international has played in the Europa League with two of his former clubs, Stade Rennais and Marseille. He even made it to the semi-final with the latter last season, where they lost to eventual winners Atalanta.

The Crystal Palace summer signing has set a big goal for his future and is determined to fulfil it.

“As you know, I have never played in the Champions League before. I’ve already played in the Europa League, but the Champions League remains my biggest dream, because I think I deserve to play there. I will give everything to make this dream come true,” Sarr explained.

Sarr is unlikely fulfil his dream with Crystal Palace in the near future.
