De Telegraaf reported on July 2nd that Manchester United player Daley Blind has “indicated” he wants to rejoin his former club Ajax in the summer transfer window.
The 28-year-old was signed for the Red Devils by their former manager Louis van Gaal in 2014. His current deal at Old Trafford will run out at the end of next season.
Ajax want to sign the Dutch international, but they are wary over what United will ask for. Blind is currently on a holiday and today’s edition of De Telegraaf has managed to get a brief quote from the player himself.
When asked about rumoured interest from Ajax in re-signing him, he said, “I can’t say much, but everyone knows how I think about Ajax.”
That’s as good a hint as a player is likely to give that he’s keen on the transfer idea.
It’s reported by De Telegraaf that Jose Mourinho’s side are hoping to sell the utility player to a club in Italy, Spain or Germany. This will help them raise more money than allowing him to join Ajax.
Manchester United legend Edwin van der Sar is a director at Ajax, and the report claims the former goalkeeper is in charge of the negotiations with the Red Devils for Blind.
