On April 8th, claims from the Turkish press had stated that Celtic are keen on Trabzonspor stopper Uğurcan Çakır and Brendan Rodgers has requested a meeting with him.
Two days later, Bild reported Celtic have also shown concrete interest in Werder Bremen goalkeeper Michael Zetterer.
Rodgers’ side seem to have added a new name to their list and Monday’s edition of Salzburger Nachrichten discusses Patrick Pentz as another target for Celtic.
Last summer, the 27-year-old joined Brøndby IF from Bayer Leverkusen on loan and has impressed for the Danish club this season, keeping nine clean sheets and conceding 23 goals from 25 games.
The Austria international’s strong performances for Brøndby have resulted in interest from Celtic and PSV Eindhoven.
Salzburger Nachrichten pointed out the interest from other clubs and quizzed him about his plans for the summer window.
“I get asked this question in interviews every week. My contract at Leverkusen runs until summer 2025, so I can’t decide entirely on my own what happens next,” he said.
“My full focus is currently on the title fight and I will give everything for the club until the end. I feel very comfortable in Copenhagen: the club, the city and the people just suit me perfectly.”
Celtic stopper Joe Hart has announced his retirement at the end of this season. Brendan Rodgers’ side have to bring in his replacement in the next window, which is why there have been reports linking Celtic with multiple stoppers in recent weeks.
