Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Yerson Mosquera has been on loan at Villarreal since the winter market and it’s not clear where he will play next season.
The centre-back has enjoyed regular game time in Spain, making made 17 appearances, scoring three goals and registering an assist in the process.
Last month, the Wolves owned player told Marca he hoped an agreement could be reached for a longer stay.
Caracol Radio state the 23-year-old’s desire is to continue at the La Liga side and he’s sent a clear message to their directors.
After the Yellow Submarine’s 4-4 draw against Real Madrid, the Colombia international talked about his experience in Spain so far and also opened the door to extending his stay at Villarreal.
“I keep all the good things I have been able to experience here,” he said, as quoted by Caracol Radio.
“We have a magnificent, incredible team, I trust each of my teammates, I know the capabilities they have to be able to deal with every situation and I know that for next season we can improve. And if I’m here, I will give them everything I can to improve.”
This is seen as a clear signal from the Wolves man of his willingness to return to Villarreal in the summer window. According to Caracol Radio, ‘everything remains in the hands’ of their club’s directors on whether or not they will make another approach for him.
As of now, Mosquera will have to return to Wolves and start pre-season under Gary O’Neil’s orders.
