Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia has insisted he has not let rumours about a move to Arsenal get to his head and he remains calm about the situation.

Mundo Deportivo cover comments from the Spanish goalkeeper today as he continues ‘accumulating suitors’, including Arsenal.

The Gunners have been consistently linked with the goalkeeper over the last year or so, with Mikel Arteta and co looking for a suitable back up to David Raya.

They held talks with Espanyol throughout last summer about a potential deal but failed to strike an agreement with the Spanish side as they continued to demand a top fee for their number one.

Arsenal instead decided to spend their money elsewhere and then sign Neto on loan from Bournemouth to act as Raya’s back up this season.

There’s every chance that Arsenal will return with another bid for Garcia next summer as they continue to try and build a squad that can compete for the Premier League title under Arteta’s leadership.

Garcia isn’t waiting on tenterhooks for that to happen and instead insists he’s remaining cool, focusing on doing his best for his current club.

“I am a very cool person in every way, and I think that attitude helps me. I am very calm in Espanyol, with an opportunity that I have been waiting for a long time,” he said when asked about his future at the club.

“That (a transfer) is for the good of all. Mine and the club, which is the one that has made me grow. It cannot be otherwise,” he concluded, making it clear he intends for the Spanish club to get a good deal for him if he is to depart.
