Fabian Hürzeler will be announced as the new Brighton and Hove Albion manager today after a breakthrough in talks with St. Pauli.
That’s according to Sky Germany, who report that the 31-year-old is set to be announced as Roberto de Zerbi’s replacement at Brighton.
They report that the 31-year-old will become the youngster coach in the history of the Premier League and an announcement is expected at some point on Saturday.
Hürzeler has signed a deal with Brighton until 2027 and according to Sky’s information, the German club will be receiving a ‘windfall’ in compensation for him.
Their information is that Brighton will pay a fee of €6-7m for Hürzeler, with the final fee depending on performance related bonuses agreed in the deal.
Either way, an agreement now appears to have been struck after more than a week of tense negotiations between the two sides and a disagreement regarding his value.
St. Pauli stuck to their guns on that front and have seemingly managed to make Brighton bend to them, getting a high price for their manager, who is expected to be announced as the new Seagulls boss at some point on Saturday.
