Hull City president Acun Ilıcalı has met with his compatriot at Trabzonspor to discuss a deal for midfielder Abdülkadir Ömür.
That’s according to Sports Digitale, who say the two presidents have met to discuss a deal for the 24-year-old before the end of the January transfer window.
Hull were brought into the mix for Ömür earlier this month, with it explained that they are looking at the Turkish market and the player in an attempt to bolster Liam Rosenior’s squad.
That was followed by a claim that they were facing competition from inside Turkey for the player, with Başakşehir and Pendikspor also in the mix.
That explained Trabzonspor are looking to earn a transfer fee for the player, but it was unclear if talks had taken place with Hull at that point.
Sports Digitale now follow that up and say they have, reporting that president Acun Ilıcalı has met with his counterpart at Trabzonspor and ‘officially requested’ the player for Hull.
They make no mention of a fee or even the type of transfer at this point, just that talks are now seemingly underway to get him into Rosenior’s squad before the January window comes to an end.
