Federico Chiesa has had a frenetic last few weeks and it all ended with his impressive transfer to Liverpool.
The Italian’s injury issues led to a decline at Juventus that few expected and his relationship with former manager Massimiliano Allegri wasn’t the best either.
That, combined withhis Juventus contract expiring in 2025, meant that he was signed by Liverpool for a low fee.
The Reds aren’t strangers to signing players from the Serie A in recent years and both Mohamed Salah and Alisson have turned out to be huge successes.
There is now an expectation in Italy that Chiesa also goes on to be a huge hit at Anfield.
Journalist Luigi Garlando wrote about the Italian in his column for FCInter1908 and he compared the winger to Salah.
“Leaving our championship for Liverpool didn’t hurt Mo Salah that much. Let’s hope then that England will soon give us back Federico from the Wembley ’21 version and maybe even better, thanks to the quality of the Premier League.”
There is also excitement that Chiesa will return to Italy when Milan take on Liverpool in some weeks, as the piece goes on to highlight how the winger once scored a brace against the Rossoneri at the San Siro in 2021.
Replicating Salah is perhaps a very high expectation.
