Everton’s interest in Udinese defender Rodrigo Becao continues to be covered in Italy today, with the Brazilian looking increasingly likely to move in the January transfer window.

The Blues were linked with the defender throughout the summer transfer window but ultimately didn’t secure a deal, instead preferring deals for Conor Coady and James Tarkowski to bolster their defence.

He’s continued to be linked with a move, though, as his current contract expires in 2024 and he is yet to sign a new deal.

That’s left Udinese concerned as they know that the next two windows may be the last in which they can sell him for a good price.

Everton have continued to be named among his suitors and both Tuttomercatoweb and Messagero Veneto continue on that thread today.

The first states that the market for Becao ‘widens further’ and Everton are one of several Premier League sides ‘holding out for him’.

At the minute Udinese are pushing for the player to sign a new deal and have initiated talks to reach that end, perhaps with the hope of guaranteeing a ‘very important capital gain’ if any of his suitors go for him.

There is ‘optimism’ among those in charge of Udinese that they can reach an agreement, but the next few weeks should be ‘followed with attention’.

Messagero Veneto say similar, insisting that the Pozzo’s would like to keep Becao until the end of the season but ‘can’t help but look around’ at what he might be able to do in the transfer window.

Everton are named among his suitors by the newspaper too, with pretty much everyone in Italy convinced that they’ll be in the picture should Becao be available as expected in January.
