With 11 goals and five assists this season, Sadio Mane’s transfer from Liverpool to Bayern Munich had been a work in progress for the Bundesliga side, until that all went down the drain.

Following his aggression towards his teammate Leroy Sane, the 31-year-old was briefly suspended by the German club.

Now as Bild share an update on the situation, it’s claimed that the Mane has had to pay the ‘highest penalty in club history’.

According to the German outlet, the former Liverpool player has been fined €350k. That’s a huge amount at Bayern Munich, with the report recalling that Franck Ribery had a €50k penalty after hitting Arjen Robben in 2012.

In fact, Bild says that Bayern Munich could’ve punished Mane even more, as they could have taken away an entire monthly salary, which is said to be as much as €2m. The club, however, chose not to ‘go that far’.

Mane is set to be in the squad that will face Manchester City in the Champions League’s quarter-finals on Wednesday. The former Liverpool star, however, is expected to start on the bench.
