There’s a claim in the Swedish media that Hibernian are showing interest in Kuopion Palloseura midfielder Matias Siltanen.
The Scottish side will be looking to add to their squad in this transfer window, but will face competition to sign the ‘highly rated’ 17-year-old.
Fotboll Direkt have reported on developments regarding the future of the midfielder, and they say Hibernian have come in with an offer for the player, along with Swedish side Djurgårdens IF. The Allsvenskan club’s second bid reportedly only arrived with Kups today.
It’s claimed both clubs have put in bids in the region of £700k after initial reports Bournemouth were the club that had made an offer for Siltanen.
However, it seems wires had been crossed with Bournemouth owner Bill Foley also having invested into Hibernian.
According to Fotboll Direkt, the next few days will be crucial to whether the central midfielder ends up in Scotland or Sweden.
Siltanen made 18 starts in the recently concluded Veikkausliiga, scoring one goal. He’s contracted to his club until December 2025.
