Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper José Sá has backed teammate to make his mark on the international stage.
The goalkeeper has been speaking to various media ahead of the international break, when he will again be a part of Roberto Martinez’s squad.
That group will include Wolves defender Toti for the first time, who is in line to earn his first appearance for his country after establishing himself at Molineux this season.
That’s seemingly earned him attention from the Portugal set up, with them set to take on Liechtenstein and Iceland in Euro qualifying.
Whether he ends up making his debut remains to be seen, with the 24-year-old only ever having made one appearance for Portugal U20s back in January 2019.
His Wolves teammate certainly thinks he is worth of a chance, though, praising the defender in his comments today.
“Toti is a very good player, that’s why he’s playing in the Premier League,” he said.
“Anyone who watches his games understands that. In my opinion, Toti can add a lot to the team. I hope he does. He’s also a good player. He’s a good guy.”
