Tottenham defender Eric Dier has admitted that he is yet to decide about a potential transfer in the January transfer window as he still struggles to establish himself under Ange Postecoglou.

The defender has been speaking as part of a web summit, with his comments relayed by SAPO in Portugal.

The 29-year-old has barely featured for Tottenham this season, with the preferred partnership of Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero keeping him out of the side thus far.

He’s made just two appearances in the Premier League to date and featured in just 14% of the minutes, although that will increase in the coming weeks with Van de Ven out and Romero suspended.

It appears he is not a part of Postecoglou’s plans moving forwards, though, and that’s led to speculation about a potential move in the January transfer window.

A switch to Roma appears to be the most likely, with Jose Mourinho determined to strengthen his team and his former Tottenham man a potential option for him.

Whether that, or any other move from Tottenham happens remains to be seen and he admits he is unsure about his future at this moment in time.

That said, he did hint about a return to living in Portugal, but wasn’t completely clear on whether that was purely for after his career or could be an option sooner.

“If my wife wants too, I’ll almost certainly go back to Portugal to live,” he said.

“This is where I want to live when my career is over. To play, I don’t know. In football you never know what’s going to happen from one day to the next.

“Sporting is my club, my home. It’s my only club where I spent 12 years, from 8 to 20. It will always be my home.”
