Altay Bayindir’s transfer from Fenerbahce to Manchester United may not have been made official yet, but it’s really no secret to anyone.
Even people at the Turkish club have been openly speaking about it. That’s the case of Fred, who left Old Trafford to move to Istanbul this summer.
The midfielder today spoke to Bein Sports, and besides speaking of his move from Manchester United to Fenerbahce, he talked about the goalkeeper who’s going the opposite way.
“When Altay left, I wished him good luck. He’s going to a great team. I suggested some neighbourhoods where he could live. I told him it was raining too much. Altay will be very happy at Manchester United.”
At the weekend, reports from the Turkish media claimed that Bayindir has already flown to Manchester on a private jet to have his medical tests.
Erik ten Hag is said to be ‘counting the days’ until he has the 25-year-old in the squad, as it was always the manager’s desire to have a good back up for Andre Onana.
The Turkish press claims the manager is a long term admirer of Bayindir, and that’s why Manchester United have been working on his signing for weeks now.
Now with few days until the end of the window, the transfer should be confirmed at any time now.
