Last summer, Chelsea reached an agreement with Palmeiras for Estêvão to arrive at the Premier League club in the summer of 2025.

The Blues can’t bring the winger to the UK until he turns 18 years of age, which will be on Thursday.

Estêvão will be eligible to move to Chelsea in the summer. His agent, André Cury, has been speaking to AS, and insisted his client will arrive at Stamford Bridge after the Club World Cup.

Both the Blues and the Brazilian club have qualified for the Club World Cup that will start in the US in June.

“Yes, he arrives after the Club World Cup. He’s a top player in the world. Very good. A guy who’s going to make history here,” he said.

The youngster has already represented Brazil’s senior team and has been compared to his compatriot, Neymar. When responding to this, his representative said Estêvão will be well prepared before arriving at Chelsea.

“No, it’s better not to make comparisons. He has his own style, but he’s a very good player. He has a good family structure that helps him on a daily basis and is essential,” Cury explained.

“Afraid of the jump to the Premier League? No, he’ll play calmly. He’ll arrive and be ready to play. He’s playing very well at Palmeiras.”

The teenager climbed through the ranks of Palmeiras’ youth system and was promoted to the first team in 2023. He managed 21 goals and 11 assists from 67 games so far.

Estêvão’s rise and development at Palmeiras caught the attention of several top European clubs. This includes Barcelona and the agent was asked why they couldn’t sign him.

“Estevão is the most expensive transfer in all of Latin America. First, Estevão, second, Vitor Roque, and third, Neymar. I was lucky enough to make all three. Also, the biggest purchase in South American history, which was Vitor Roque to Palmeiras for €30m. I’m grateful for a bit of work and luck,” he added.

“With Estevão, I had interest from PSG, Bayern Munich, Chelsea… from several clubs. Today, it’s very difficult to negotiate due to the Fair Play issue. Those who don’t have the money to invest want to do so to get immediate results.

“Imagine this: Chelsea signed Estevão a year ago; they’ve waited a year to be able to enjoy him now, in July. There’s no money to do this in Spain. They can’t wait.”
