Thomas Frank arrived at Brentford in 2018 and guided the Bees to promotion to the Premier League in 2021.
The Dane helped the English club finish 13th last season, and they are currently 10th in the table after 15 matches in the 2022/23 season.
Brentford have been delighted with the job carried out by Frank and secured his future by handing him a new deal. On Christmas Eve, the Premier League side confirmed the 49-year-old has signed an extension until 2027.
Ekstra Bladet have interviewed him, and the coach expressed his delight over committing his long-term future to Brentford. Over the last 18 months or so, there have been rumours linking Frank with a move away from his current employer.
Despite signing the new deal, the manager has not closed the door on leaving the London club. He has detailed the conditions needed to take him out of Brentford.
“Let me emphasise: I am incredibly happy to be at Brentford because it is such a well-run club. We have superb management, a fantastic organisation with a short path to [making] decisions,” he said.
“But will I be at Brentford for the rest of my coaching career? No, I won’t. Of course, I also have big dreams and ambitions. But when I have to move on one day, it will have to be after one of those offers that you only get once and therefore can’t say no to.”
Frank was pressed about the possibility of taking the Denmark job. Responding to that, he explained: “It’s not something I’m thinking about right now. I think Denmark have the best coach they can get. And I am convinced that Kasper Hjulmand and the players will get things back on track very quickly.”
