Hamburg forward Pierre-Michel Lasogga has been linked with a potential move to Leeds United in recent days, which has been widely reported in the German media.

Following today’s 0-0 draw with Preston North End, local newspaper Hamburger Morgenpost reported on the Championship clash at Elland Road.

Leeds United failed to break down a resilient Preston team, despite the Lancashire side having to play with ten men for the last thirty minutes.

The Hamburg newspaper says it’s quite apparent why Leeds United want to sign the former Germany U21 international, after failing to score in their first home league match of the season.

Hamburger Morgenpost believe today’s result against Preston will now ‘speed up’ Leeds United’s efforts to sign Lasogga.

Earlier today we covered reports from Germany that Lasogga is keen on a move to Leeds United. The Championship club are reportedly looking to loan the forward for a season, with a right of redemption.

A matter which does need addressing is how much the English side are willing to contribute to the player’s salary, after claims Lasogga currently earns £60k a week with the Bundesliga team.
