Last week, InterLive.it stated Manchester City can make a ‘pharaonic offer’ for Inter Milan star Nicolò Barella. It was also suggested a possible deal would depend on the outcome of the Citizens’ ongoing legal battle and Pep Guardiola’s future.

The manager’s contract expires at the end of this season and it’s not clear whether he’ll sign a new contract.

A fresh report from InterLive.it provides the latest on Manchester City’s interest in the 27-year-old. Guardiola is ‘in love with him’ and wants the midfielder ‘at any cost’.

The manager appreciates his profile and sees him as a ‘complete and strong midfielder’. He believes the Italy international would be ideal for his system at the Etihad.

Manchester City would like to please their manager by making an approach for him next summer. Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and a few other English clubs are also looking at Barella.

Despite this, the report says the Premier League winners could take ‘pole position’, to try and please Guardiola.

Barella’s contract lasts until 2027. Earlier claims from InterLive.it didn’t mention the fee needed to sign him. Their latest report states the Nerazzurri will ask ‘no less than €80m’ for Barella.

Guardiola is driving Manchester City’s interest, but the website hasn’t taken into account his deal expires in 2025.
