Arriving at Manchester United off the back of a big €75m+ transfer, the pressure was immediately on Rasmus Højlund to perform.
He was unable to do so at first because of an injury, and then struggled to find the back of the net in the Premier League for a while, before everything clicked for the young Dane.
The Manchester United striker has since been in fine form for his new club, and his resilience was pointed out by Reims star Mohamed Daramy, who spoke to Bold about his compatriot.
He knows him from their time at FCK together and with the Denmark first team, so they have a good relationship.
Daramay said: “It’s really cool. Obviously, he’s had a lot of criticism along the way and that’s been part of the journey, but it’s great to see his mental strength and how he just keeps working hard. You always had a feeling that he just needed to get the first couple go foals and then the streak would start. It’s great to see that he can score a lot of goals and I hope they can move up the table.”
The 21-year-old striker has made 31 appearances in all competitions for Manchester United since his big summer transfer from Atalanta, had has found the back of the net 13 times, also helping his teammates out with two assists.
As for his career for Denmark, the Red Devils star has been far more prolific, tallying seven goals in 10 caps to date.
