Christopher Nkunku’s future is ‘as good as decided’ with final negotiations over a move to Chelsea taking place this week.
That’s according to SportBILD, who say the Frenchman will be Timo Werner’s replacement at Stamford Bridge.
Nkunku has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea throughout the last week, with reports suggesting the Premier League side had managed to secure a pre-contract agreement with RB Leipzig for his signature.
That was waved away in Germany but there has been a growing insistence that Chelsea are now at the front of the queue for his signature.
SportBILD add to that today, explaining that there had been some strife internally at Leipzig as Nkunku was unhappy at being played out of position.
This led to a conversation with his manager Marco Rose and a return to where he wanted to be, which resulted in improved performances and helped to clear the player’s head.
Further helping the latter is the fact that his future is ‘as good as decided’, with SportBILD stating that Chelsea, Leipzig and Nkunku were in ‘final negotiations’ at the beginning of this week about a transfer next summer.
They state that the Frenchman can soon join the Blues officially ‘soon’ and become the new striker at Stamford Bridge from new summer onwards.
