Since Maurizio Sarri joined Juventus, there have been rumours saying Jorginho could leave Chelsea to team up with his old boss at the Old Lady.

The problem is it’s not simple and the Italian press reckons the Blues would demand too much for the midfielder, while the player and his agent claim he’s fine in London.

Still, local outlets continue to try to light up the fire with new claims and interviews. Today, website TuttoJuve spoke to Jorginho’s agent JoĂ£o Santos, and asked him about the chances of a move.

“I learn of these constant rumours only from the newspapers, because nobody from Juventus contacted me. Sarri appreciates him very much as a person and as a player, they worked very well together but there’s nothing else”, said JoĂ£o Santos.

“The boy thinks only of Chelsea, he’s started training again and is preparing for the start of the Premier League. Besides that, in my opinion, it’s difficult for the Bianconeri to buy him today.”

On the reasons why the move would be so unlikely, JoĂ£o Santos mentioned how important Jorginho has been for the Stamford Bridge side.

“Because what we’ll experience will not be a normal market, it will be economically affected by the pandemic. And then Jorginho has a contract with Chelsea until 2023, he’s the vice-captain and is considered a very important player for the team.”

So they asked him if it’s unlikely that Juventus would spend between €50m and €60 to take him from Chelsea.

“I’m not referring only to Juventus, but to all the biggest clubs in Europe. It’ll be difficult to shell out those figures for a single player. We will see a different transfer market this year.”

And just to insist a little bit, they’ve asked the agent ‘what if this happens?’

“If that happens, I reply that the person concerned will have to go to Chelsea and talk to Marina about it. Then we’ll consider together what to do. This would not be a problem.”
