Glasgow Rangers have agreed on a deal with Amiens for midfielder Bongani Zungu, with the player set to sign a four deal at Ibrox.
That’s according to L’Equipe, who back up reports from Scotland that the player could be on the move to Ibrox.
Yesterday we covered a report from France Football that Rangers were keen on Zungu and that the French side were looking at making €2-3m from the deal.
L’Equipe cover that today and say that they can confirm information from the aforementioned article in Scotland about the potential move.
They report that Amiens have reached an agreement with Rangers over a €4m deal, so doubt what the original report claimed.
Zungu also has an agreement in place with Steven Gerrard’s side and ‘is expected’ to sign a four-year deal at Ibrox, although the report doesn’t mention what his wage packet will be.
The deal represents a good return for Amiens, who paid €2m to sign the South African midfielder from Vitoria Guimaraes three years ago.
He will become Rangers’ sixth signing of the season, with Gerrard keen to improve his squad to close the gap on champions Celtic next season.
