Amiens SC midfielder Bongani Zungu has emerged as a target for Rangers, according to France Football.

The 27-year-old’s current deal with the French club expires in 2021 and he’s been drawing attention from elsewhere.

It’s claimed the South Africa international was approached by RCD Mallorca in the winter market and is still a target for clubs in La Liga this summer.

The report, however, doesn’t provide details of those Spanish sides interested in him. Rangers have now joined the chase as Zungu is ‘one of the players of interest’ for Steven Gerrard’s side.

Apart from Rangers, Vitória de Guimarães recently collected information about the player. He spent one season with the Portuguese side before joining Amiens in 2017.

With several clubs looking at the signing, France Football state the Ligue 1 side are hoping to receive a fee around €2-3m for Zungu this summer.

The report only mentions the midfielder is target for the Scottish Premiership side and it remains to be seen whether or not Rangers are ready to meet Amiens’ demand to get ahead in the race for Zungu.
