Arsenal haven’t quite got to the point of increasing their offer for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang by €1m at a time, but it’s not far off.
The Premier League club’s first offer was €50m according to the German media. Then on Tuesday Bild so nonchalantly reported it was now €55m that we believed they’d made a typo and nothing had actually happened.
It turns out we were wrong, and Arsenal did increase their offer to €55m, which Bild now make clearer, and it’s since gone up again… this time to €58m.
Bild make a joke on current German politics and say negotiations for the Aubameyang transfer are dragging on like the formation of a government.
The German newspaper don’t say if the new offer has been outright rejected or not, but they do point out that Borussia Dortmund require €70m, that’s their asking price.
There’s only a week left of the transfer window, and if the increments Arsenal increase their offer by are so low, we could be here for a few days yet.
