The winter 2022 market closed on January 31st and since then there’s been several claims, at least in the Italian sports media, discussing Arsenal interest in Fabián Ruiz.
On February 1st, Corriere dello Sport stated the Gunners sent ‘subliminal messages’ about their interest in the Napoli star. Last week, NapoliPiu.com explained the north London club are keen to sign the midfielder and his teammate, Victor Osimhen, in the summer.
The Spain international’s current deal expires in 2023, which puts his future in doubt.
If the former Real Betis man were to not commit his long-term future to the Naples club, they could be forced to let him leave cheaply after this season, in order to avoid losing him for nothing in 2023.
Arsenal are among the clubs in the picture to sign Fabián and his ‘future is up for auction’.
When discussing options, TMW mention Real Madrid since they have three midfielders in their 30s. Barcelona are also tagged, but they need to come up with a financial strategy to secure the Spaniard’s services.
TMW’s report doesn’t give a feeling that either of the La Liga side will make an approach for Fabián and this could give Arsenal an opportunity to carry out his signing later this year.
