With AS Roma not making any huge moves in the January transfer window, the big story continues to be the stay of Nicolo Zaniolo, who turned down a move to AFC Bournemouth.
Calcio Mercato today features an interesting piece where they claim that everyone in this recent saga was guilty. That means the player, manager José Mourinho and the Italian club.
However, it’s claimed that Zaniolo did have every right to turn down Bournemouth, since he has a contract with Roma and didn’t need to accept the transfer.
So the midfielder may be receiving some hate at the Giallorossi, with the outlet pointing out that the Friedkins are the ‘most angry’ at him for ‘blowing up the transfer’, but his decision to stay was totally legit.
There’s now a big interrogation about Zaniolo’s upcoming months at the club, since he’s not included in training and his relationship with club and fans is awful.
And in June, in case things don’t change by then, the club are set to try a new solution for him. This time, though, it sounds unlikely Bournemouth would try his signing.
