Fulham have not given up on the signing of Benfica midfielder Florentino Luís, according to reports from Portugal on Monday.

Newspaper Record writes today that the Craven Cottage side shall return with a new bid for the 21-year-old very soon.

The first attempt from the club had already been reported by the Portuguese media, with the Whites trying to sign him on a loan deal plus an option to buy for €18m.

Now Record says Fulham will be back with a bigger offer.

According to the report, Benfica won’t make Florentino’s departure easy. The club are pointing to his €40m release clause to make things more difficult.

It’s also claimed that Milan offered €3m deal for a loan with an obligatory clause to buy for €30m. That probably means that Fulham’s offer must rise significantly for the Eagles to take it.

Record says that Florentino is in Jorge Jesus’ plans for the reason, but would like to leave Benfica this summer.

Given Fulham have secured Mario Lemina from Southampton, this one now seems to be slipping away.
