Fulham made a late enquiry for Borussia Dortmund striker Sebastien Haller on deadline day but saw the German side refuse to sanction a deal.
That’s according to Sky Germany and journalist Florian Plettenberg, who report that Dortmund have decided against letting the striker go.
Fulham have been short up front this season after the departure of Aleksandr Mitrovic, with the likes of Raul Jimenez and Carlos Vinicius not filling the gap he left behind.
The former has now picked up a hamstring injury which could see him spend an extended period on the sidelines and Fulham are scrambling to find an alternative on deadline day as a result.
That saw them make inquiries with Borussia Dortmund for Haller, who had been linked with a move away from the German side this month.
They were seeking a loan deal until the end of the season, but it seems that was vetoed by Dortmund, who have decided to keep Haller at the club rather than let him go.
That’s disappointing for Fulham, who will now need to look elsewhere for the striker that Marco Silva desperately needs to add to his squad.
