Two months ago, Fanaticos stated Fulham are one of the clubs willing to spend to secure the signing of Club América’s Sebastián Cáceres in the winter market.

The centre-back has a deal expiring in December 2024 and his future seems to be away from the Mexican club.

Fulham could be an option for him, according to Mexican journalist Fernando Esquivel. He took to Instagram to provide the latest update on this case.

According to Esquivel, Marco Silva’s side and Napoli are the ‘main interested parties’ to sign the 24-year-old, likely in January.

He claims Club América have received two offers from Europe and believes those could have been tabled by Fulham and the Serie A winners. There’s no mention of the details of these proposals.

There were ‘advances’ for this operation after ‘planned contacts’ but the journalist doesn’t make it clear whether the interested parties [Fulham and Napoli] made contact with Club América, the player’s camp or both.

Esquivel says ‘there is a green light’ from both the Uruguay international and his agent to move to Europe and Club América’s response is now awaited.

Cáceres has made 18 appearances this season for the Mexican club.
