Given Fulham midfielder João Palhinha missed Portugal’s first game at Euro 2024 and was replaced at half-time in the other two matches of the group stages, it may look like he’s not appreciated by the national team.
Despite Roberto Martinez’s choices, though, the Portuguese media is still showing big support for the player. And with him playing in the whole game against Slovenia, he’s now been praised by the local press.
In a video brought by Mais Futebol, pundit Nuno Farinha talks about Palhinha’s potential exit from Fulham and his importance to the national team.
The pundit highlights that Palhinha deserves what he’s achieving, as the national team are doing the basics by having him in their line-up, and he’s been showing enough to earn his place and shall continue to be an important player in the tournament in Germany.
“This player deserves everything he’s achieving. Nobody is doing Palhinha any favours. Palhinha deserves and justifies all the minutes he’s getting in the national team. He’s totally serious.”
That’s some big love for the Fulham player, who should soon have his exit announced.
