Despite intermediaries trying to steer Fulham’s Tosin Adarabioyo away from his preferred move to AS Monaco, the principality side are close to getting their man.
That’s what Foot Mercato are reporting on Tuesday, as they reveal the Craven Cottage side and their Ligue 1 counterparts are ‘getting closer to an agreement’ for the centre-back’s transfer.
Monaco ‘never gave up’ despite attempts from Fulham to try and send him to another Premier League side, while other clubs, such as OGC Nice, also considered a move.
However, after ‘bitter negotiations’, everything seems to be falling into place for the defender, who is one step closer from getting his desired exit from Craven Cottage.
In fact, it was Adarabioyo himself who managed to get a breakthrough, as he reportedly ‘threatened’ Fulham of staying put for a year to run down his contract and then leave for free if he wasn’t allowed to join Monaco.
That’s when Marco Silva’s side decided to give him the move he wanted, and the two clubs are currently talking about a transfer of around €12-13m, which is close to the €15m wanted in the first place for the 25-year-old.
A five-year contract is allegedly waiting for him, meaning this would be a big move for him, where he could stay for quite a while.
