Fulham are keeping a close eye on Le Havre youngster Étienne Youté Kinkoué as his rapid rise in France earns him attention from a number of clubs.
That’s according to Foot Mercato, who cover how Fulham could be set to compete with FC Köln and Mainz 05 for the player’s signature.
They explain that the German duo are looking for defensive reinforcements for the second half of the season and have identified a ‘central defender talent’ in France.
They’ve been keeping a close eye on Kinkoué, who has ‘caused a stir’ in recent weeks after breaking into the first team and becoming an ‘integral part’ of the Ligue 1 side’s set up.
He hasn’t missed a minute since the beginning of November and these ‘outstanding achievements’ have earned him attention from the German duo.
They’re not the only ones who have ‘picked up the scent’, though, as Fulham have also taken notice of him after his recent performances.
According to FM, Kinkoué is a central defender particularly characterised by his ‘strong header game’ and is tied to Le Havre until 2025 but has ‘flown under the radar’ in France so far with just six appearances for the U17s so far.
That appears to have now changed as Fulham, as well as clubs in Germany, have picked up on him and now seem to be keeping a close eye on his development.
