On Thursday, a story emerged that Fulham had made an offer for Milan’s Mateo Musacchio.
On paper, it makes perfect sense since the Cottagers are currently going around Europe trying to find centre-backs to add to their now Premier League squad, short on personnel in that department.
The story was first reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, who claimed Fulham had made an initial approach to try and sign him on a permanent transfer.
Corriere dello Sport pick it up on Friday, confirming an offer (the amount hasn’t been revealed) has arrived on Milan’s desk for the defender they spent €18m on a year ago.
Massimiliano Mirabelli, the Serie A club’s director of football, is said to be ‘considering the opportunity’, but would rather ‘protect himself with another piece’ before accepting Fulham’s offer.
By that, we’re assuming they mean he’d like to sign a replacement before seeing one of the squad’s centre-backs leave.
We’ll be keeping an eye on this one in the coming days.
