There’s a claim in the Turkish media that Fulham are still showing interest in Goztepe forward Romulo but face new competition to sign the player.

Earlier this month the 23-year-old was linked with a move to the Premier League side, along with a number of European clubs.

Turkiye Gazetesi report the latest developments regarding the Goztepe attacker’s future after he impressed for the Super Lig side last season.

They say Fulham are still in the picture to sign the youngster, but Portuguese champions Sporting have now joined the race to sign him. It’s claimed the two clubs are in transfer talks as Sporting look to find a replacement for Viktor Gyökeres.

Fulham are still in the running to sign Romulo, along with RB Leipzig Ajax, Feyenoord, Roma, AS Monaco and Anderlecht.

Romulo made 28 starts in the Super Lig last season, scoring 12 goals. He’s contracted until June 2028 after making his move to Goztepe permanent during the last transfer window.
