Not to be deterred after losing out on Manu Silva to Benfica at the last minute, Wolves are returning to fish in the Portuguese transfer pond.

Tuesday’s edition of O Jogo reports Wolves have been considering presenting a proposal to Sporting CP to sign Geny Catamo. The 23-year-old is a right-winger, but can also play on the left if required. He’s played 29 matches so far this season for Sporting, scoring four goals and adding four assists along the way.

O Jogo report that not only are Wolves keen, but so are Fulham, Aston Villa, Genoa and Udinese.

Wolves, Fulham and Aston Villa ‘tighten the siege’ around Catamo, and whilst he’s happy at Sporting he’d be keen on bigger wages. There’s a suggestion that could even happen if he stays in Lisbon.

Given that, there’s a chance Wolves, Aston Villa and Fulham are at least partly being used to prod Sporting into offering higher wages.

One to keep an eye on but it doesn’t feel like anything imminent will happen.
