Aston Villa’s Kosta Nedeljković has seen his playing time limited this season and has clocked in 341 minutes from nine games in all competitions.

The right-back featured in Aston Villa’s FA Cup win over West Ham United and that’s been his only appearance for over a month.

Nedeljković has dropped further down the pecking order after Aston Villa signed Andrés García from Levante UD earlier in the winter market.

On Thursday, claims from France and Serbia stated AS Saint-Étienne have started talks with the Villans to sign the 19-year-old. L’Equipe back it up and add the Ligue 1 club have come close to securing his services on loan.

This was before RB Leipzig entered the race for the Serbia international’s signature and Saint-Étienne now face tough competition from the Bundesliga club.

It’s claimed Leipzig have presented an offer on Friday to sign Nedeljković on loan with an option to buy. There’s no mention of the fee for the purchase option.

The Aston Villa player’s head has turned as the newspaper states he now likes Leipzig’s project. Therefore, Saint-Étienne have to wait to see how this case develops in the next few hours.
