Serbian defender Branislav Ivanovic’s future at Chelsea is in doubt, with Antonio Conte opting for Cesar Azpilicueta in the three man defence, and Victor Moses as the right wing back.
The 32-year-old has a contract until the end of the season at Stamford Bridge, and could be heading for an exit.
According to a latest report on Marseille based website Le Phoceen, Marseille are keen on signing Ivanovic, as they want to reinforce their squad under new owners, and manager Rudi Garcia.
Le Phoceen say Ivanovic isn’t really in Conte’s plans for the future, but his ‘XXL’ wages could be an issue for the Ligue 1 club.
The fact that the Serbian wants to stay in London could also prove to be another stumbling block.
It’s reported Marseille have already started to plan for the winter transfer window, and it remains to be seen if the Chelsea star would want to sign for the Ligue 1 club.
