Once linked with a move to Chelsea and Manchester City after Angers were somehow in a Champions League spot last Christmas, Cheikh N’Doye is once again being linked with a move to England, but this time in the Championship.
Having lost Idrissa Gueye to Everton earlier on this summer, the relegated club are trying to bolster their midfield a bit, and the 30-year-old Senegalese defensive midfielder is the one they’re looking at.
According to Mercato365, the Championship side have approached the player ahead of a possible move, as the veteran has been granted permission to leave if the right offer came along.
The former US Créteil midfielder was a key member of Angers’ squad last season for their return to Ligue 1, as the minnows finished a very respectable ninth following their promotion from Ligue 2.
N’Doye scored nine goals and helped out with four assists in 32 league appearances last season, as well as getting sent off twice and picking up five yellow cards along the way.
