John Bostock moved to Ligue 2 side RC Lens during the summer, after a period playing in Belgium. The 24 year old’s career stalled when he moved to Tottenham Hotspur from Crystal Palace, and the transfer didn’t work out for anyone involved.
Tottenham loaned Bostock out to Brentford, Hull City, Sheffield Wednesday, Swindon Town, and even Toronto. Bostock couldn’t find a way through at Spurs and also failed to really impress during any of the loans.
Things are different this season and French newspaper L’Equipe have a feature on Monday on a player they call ‘Le Boss’. Bostock is perhaps already having his best ever season, and is pleased to be getting games regularly, something that never happened at Tottenham.
Bostock told L’Equipe: “I played very early in the Europa League with Tottenham but then I have several times been loaned and you’re forgotten.”
L’Equipe say that Bostock’s success with Lens has attracted recruiters from Premier League clubs, who have been keeping themselves informed about the player’s progress. But the former Tottenham player is keen to get promoted with Lens, and once again play in a top division.
