Former Stoke City star Steven N’Zonzi is wanted by several European clubs, according to a latest report on Mundo Deportivo.
The Sevilla midfielder enjoyed an good debut season at La Liga club, after a difficult start. and has also started this season impressively.
N’Zonzi was linked with a move to Leicester City in the summer, but Sevilla were reluctant to sell him. Mundo Deportivo say Chelsea, Manchester City, Barcelona and Juventus have added N’Zonzi to their shortlist, and are keeping close tabs on the Frenchman.
Barcelona believe N’Zonzi could be a good natural replacement for Sergio Busquets, a long way from playing for Stoke City, but the 27-year-old wants to continue his career at the Andalusian club.
N’Zonzi current contract expires in 2019, and has a release clause of €30m. Sevilla are keen on extending his contract, but it isn’t believed to be easy because of the player’s demands.
It’s unlikely Sevilla would want to lose N’Zonzi in the middle of the season, but would be helpless if any of the interested clubs match his release clause.
