Of the transfer deals that have come out of nowhere this summer, Paulo Dybala to Manchester United certainly arrived from far left-field.
Few would have anticipated the Argentine ending up at Old Trafford next season but, if things go as United hope they will, that will be the case.
They’ve somehow engineered a swap deal with Juventus that will see Romelu Lukaku head to Italy and Dybala go the opposite way in a deal that even United’s worst enemies can’t help but admire.
The move rests on whether Manchester United can offer Dybala the kind of assurance he’s after, particularly when it comes to his wage packet.
One man who doesn’t doubt it will happen, though, is former Juventus striker Massimo Briaschi. He is not only backing Dybala to accept the deal but be a big hit in the Premier League as well.
“I think so. It is clear that he must give the final word, but before he refuses he will take care of it,” he told Tuttomercatoweb when asked if Dybala will join United.
“Dybala is a great player, he has skills that adapt to any championship… if he goes to Manchester, he can raise himself. It would be an excellent solution.”
