Since being sacked by Aston Villa when the club were still in the Premier League, Rémi Garde has been waiting for the right offer before returning to management and continuing his career.
Turning down a job at the French Football Federation, as well as being linked with a role at his former club Lyon, the former Aston Villa manager has now been offered a job to potentially manage a Champions League playing team.
According to Mercato365 in France, Olympiakos in Greece have approached Garde to take over their first-team after Paulo Bento was sacked following a poor run of results in the league, despite the club sitting comfortably top of the Greek Superleague with a six point lead.
With a spot for the Champions League third qualifying round handed to the league winner, the former Aston Villa manager, whose job is now occupied by Steve Bruce, could potentially be at the helm of a team playing elite European football next season.
Mercato365 state Garde is yet to give a reply, while former Nottingham Forest manager Philippe Montanier is also said to have been contacted by Olympiakos regarding the job.
During his time at Villa Park, the French manager lost 12 of the 20 league games he was in charge of, drawing six and only winning two of the remaining eight.
He notably never got much backing from the Aston Villa board at the time in January, but managed to fend off interest from Sunderland for Micah Richards, who has barely featured under Steve Bruce this season.
