There’s a claim in the Turkish media that Fenerbahce are still trying to convince Bright Osayi-Samuel to remain at the club.

The Nigeria international’s current contract expires in the summer, and this has led to claims Nottingham Forest are looking to sign him.

Milliyet have reported on developments regarding Osayi-Samuel at Fenerbahce and they say the Istanbul club will offer him an improved contract proposal.

It was widely reported the former Queens Park Rangers defender had rejected Fener’s first proposal, leading to reports of a return to England.

Crystal Palace have been tracking Osayi-Samuel for the past few months, but it’s Nottingham Forest who made a move for the Nigerian last month.

In March we covered reports from the Turkish press that Forest had made a ‘serious offer’ to the defender as they look to bring him in on a free transfer this summer. At the time it was claimed a pre-contract agreement was in place for the 27-year-old, but it now seems Fenerbahce are making a last grasp attempt to keep him in Istanbul.

Jose Mourinho is keen for him to remain in his squad for next season, but they will now have to act before a possible move to the Premier League.
