The are reports in the Turkish media that Borussia Dortmund are interested in signing Besiktas midfielder Oguzhan Ozyakup.
The Turkey international has been strongly linked with Everton in recent weeks, following reports the Toffees have been in talks to sign the player.
Fotomac have today reported Borussia Dortmund could table a bid for Ozyakup in the summer despite claims he’s close to extending his contract with Besiktas.
Ozyakup’s contract expires at the end of the season, but if he does commit himself to the Turkish champions a €12m buyout will be implemented into his new deal. The Bundesliga giants wouldn’t have an issue paying such a small transfer fee for player they’ve been tracking over a long period.
Earlier this month we covered reports from the Turkish media that Everton are in talks with Ozyakup’s agent Kees Vos with regards to signing the central midfielder in the summer.
It was claimed discussions are progressing and that the player could be nearing a move to Goodison Park. Vos also confirmed Everton were showing an interest in his client.
Despite Borussia Dortmund’s intentions, Everton can still be confident of landing Ozyakup as the player reportedly has a desire to return to England.
